Michel Jobert

Michel Jobert was a Politician French, of sensitivity gaullist of left, born the September 11th 1921 with Meknès (Morocco), dead the May 25th 2002 with Paris.

Biography

Mobilized during the Second world war like 2nd class with the regiment of Moroccan riflemen of graduate Casablanca then of the Private school of political sciences and ENA, it belongs to various ministerial cabinets of the IV {{E}}, collaborator in particular of Pierre Mendès France, and of the V {{E}} République. Although resulting from the administration and not from the political world, it directs the cabinet of the Prime Minister Georges Pompidou starting from January 8th 1966 where it replaces François-Xavier Ortoli. It is General secretary of the Presidency of the Republic after the election of Georges Pompidou with the Presidency of the French Republic on June 19th 1969.

He becomes Foreign Minister between 1973 and 1974: he denounces the collusion of the the USSR and of the the United States beyond their skirmishes and to the interference Henry Kissinger in the European businesses by refusing the revision of the Charte of the Treaty of the North Atlantic is opposed.

It supports Jacques Chaban-Delmas with presidential of 1974. After the election of Valery Giscard d'Estaing, it founds her own political movement, the Mouvement of the democrats, and wishes to position apart from left cleavage right-hand side/. It supports François Mitterrand with presidential of 1981 and becomes Minister for the Foreign trade (with the title of minister of state) following the election of this last. He resigns of this station in 1983.

Anecdote

Combatant in Italy, his regiment was twice bombarded by error by the Americans and it failed to lose the life there.
