Michel III Obrenović
Michel III Obrenović , in Serbe Cyrillique Sr МихаилоОбреновић (born with Kragujevac on September 16th, 1823 - died with Belgrade on June 10th, 1868) was Prince of Serbia of 1839 with 1842 then, again, of 1860 with 1868. Deposited in 1842, he died assassinated in 1868.
Biography
Michel Obrenović was the son of the prince Miloš Obrenović (1780-1860). His/her older brother Milan was of health fragile.June 25th, 1839, Prince Miloš abdicated in favor of his son Milan, who died on July 8th of the same year. Prince Michel became then in his turn prince de Serbie. The Sublime Door, which still dominated the Serbia, accepted its come to power as “an elected prince” and not as hereditary prince. Nevertheless, young person and still inexperienced, it tested difficulties of regulating the interior and external difficulties to which Serbia was to face.
In 1842, prince Michel was reversed by a rebellion led by Toma Vučić-Perišić, one of the chiefs of the " Defenders of Constitution". The favor of this rebellion, the family of the Karađorđević (Karageorgévitch) reached the capacity in the person of the prince Alexandre.
In 1853, Michel Obrenović Maria with the countess Julia Hunyadi von Kéthely (1831 - 1919).
After the abdication of Alexandre Karađorđević, in 1858, the prince Miloš was recalled to the capacity. Under its second reign, prince Michel was useful as commander in the Serb army.
September 26th, 1860, prince Miloš died. Michel was in his turn recalled to the capacity.
In 1861, remained without children, it adopted his nephew Milan Obrenović who had just lost his parents.
In 1867, it succeeds in obtaining the departure out of Serbia of the last Turkish garrison. It was in favor of a union of all the Slaves of the South (including the Bulgaria) and supported in its country the partisans of the Grande Serbia.
Under its reign, Belgrade becomes the capital of Serbia and, for the first time since the Middle Ages, the country found a national currency: the dinar.
June 10th, 1868, prince Michel was assassinated. Alexandre Karađorđević, shown to be mixed with the murder was considered and condemned to twenty years of prison; nevertheless, being in exile, it was not worried. Milan Obrenović was indicated to succeed to him and he became prince de Serbie under the name of Milan IV.
