Michel Husson

Michel Husson is a economist French and a altermondialist militant born the April 3rd 1949 with Lyon.

Formation

Specialized in econometrics, it is Administrateur of INSEE.

After having taken down a license in Economic scenes in the Parisian universities of Assas and Nanterre (1966-1970), it obtains a diploma of Higher learning of Economic scenes (the Pantheon 1970-1971) before finishing its course with ENSAE between 1971 and 1974.

Between 1975 and 1984, it is engaged at the Management of the Forecast of the French Ministry of the Economy where it deals with work of macroeconomic modeling. Between 1985 and 1987, it joined the INEGI in Mexico City (the Institut National de Statistique) where the responsibility for a model of the Mexican economy is entrusted to him. Between 1987 and 1989, he works with the Ministry for Industry, in the Industrial Statistical office (SESSI) as a chief of the Office Statistical analysis. Since 1990, he works with the Research institute economic and social (ANGERS, related to the trade unions) as Chef of the group “Employment”.

Militant activity

Former militant of PSU, he was member of 1979 to 2007 of the Communist revolutionary league, of which he belonged to the central committee between 1995 to 2000, then resigns in December 2006 of it. He is also member of the Fondation Copernic, as well as Scientific advice of Attac. He took part in the creation of association “AC!” (“To act together against unemployment”) in 1993.

In dissension with the attitude of the LCR with respect to the collectives anti-liberals, he announces the January 6th 2007 his resignation of the LCR. He signed the petition so that Jose Bove is presented to the presidential elections.
