Michel Freitag (born in 1935) is a Sociologue and Philosophe Québécois of origin Suisse. It is Professor emeritus with the Université from Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). He studies in particular the phenomenon of the Postmodernité which he associates with the puritan Protestantisme . He associates especially modernity with the capacity of institutionalization.
