Michel Carpenter
Michel Charpentier is a French trade unionist teaching.
He was militant and general secretary of SNETAA (Trade union of the vocational training of FEN). At that time, the SNETAA is member of the federal majority Unité Independence and Democracy (UID).
In May 1990, because of important divergences with the direction of the FEN, he sees himself prohibiting the use of the initials by the federal majority.
After consultation of the trade unionists of the SNETAA, hostile with the single project of trade union of the teachers carried by UID, it leaves the majority tendency formally and founds its own tendency: " Autrement".
This new tendency will rejoin the federal minority, thus threatening UID to become minority and precipitating consequently the scission of FEN in 1993. For as much a certain number of militants of the SNETAA will remain faithful in the majority federal and will join the Syndicat of the teachers as of his creation.
It is with the head of the SNTEAA that Michel Charpentier will take part in the foundation of the FSU. He however is very quickly évincé of the SNETAA to the profit of a new general secretary, B. Pabot.
