Michel Blavet

Michel Blavet is a French type-setter born with Besancon the March 13rd 1700 and died in Paris the October 28th 1768.

Biography

Although he was left-handed autodidact and , Blavet played several instruments, became a Basson ist shining and was most famous Flûtiste virtuoso of first half of the 18th century century. It gained Paris in 1723, where it was employed by the count Lévis. In 1726, it entered to the service of the count de Carignan for whom it wrote his first composition. The same year, it bound friendship with the flutist virtuoso Johann Joachim Quantz, raises Pierre-Gabriel Buffardin. Its first Concerto S and Sonate S obtained an immense success with the Concert of sacred music.

Towards 1732, he became superintendent of the music of the count de Clermont, Grand Main about the Freemasons, with the service of which there will remain 30 years. In 1740, he became flutist with the Opera of Paris. After having met Georg Philip Telemann in 1746 in Paris, it made discover its Quatuor S with the formation which it had created, a quartet with Flûte, Violon, Viole of gamba or Violoncelle and low continuous.

Starting from 1752, it wrote some small opera S for the count de Clermont and was the author of the first Opera-puffs out French: the Jealous one corrected . It was one of the first French to write concerti , but only sound Concerto with four parts arrived to us. The sonatas of Blavet constituted tops of the repertory of the flute. Blavet taught and published several teaching works, including three Recueils of pieces and a work on the flute, proposing six sonatas for two flutes.
