Michel Basket maker
Michel Vannier (known as Bit of Wicker ) is a French player of Rugby to XV, born the July 21st 1931 with Étain, having occupied the station of back in its club, the Racing club of France, and in team of France.
Biography
Its all beginnings were done within the ACE Verdun, then he played Racing Châlonnais club.This Lorraine is regarded as the best player of the world at his station of predilection in 1957 and 1958 (better realizer of the tournament this year), and is then one of the very rare players originating in the northern half of France to be itself imposed in team of France.
At the time of the match of Springs (gained by French in South Africa the July 19th 1958), it was seriously wounded by Twegge. Its two broken cross ligaments and the luxated articulation, it was transported to Johannesburg. One thought even a time to cut down it locally… but the surgeon Jimmy Craig achieves wonders of care then, and Basket maker after a rehabilitation of hardest even succeeds in heroically taking again his place in team of France in 1960!
Its wound prevented it from being champion of France in 1959, at the sides of Michel Crauste and François Moncla.
He dies in June 1991 of an heart attack, at the dawn of his 60ème year.
