Michel Béroff
Michel Béroff (born in 1950 with Épinal, France) is a Pianiste French.
Biography
He begins his musical studies with the Academy of Nancy, which he continues with CNSM of Paris where he obtains the First Price in 1966. The following year, it gives its first recital to Paris. It gains then the First Price of the international Concours Olivier-Messiaen.
Its career carries out it throughout the world and he plays with chiefs such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboïm, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Antal Dorati, Christoph Eschenbach, Charles Dutoit, Kurt Masur, Seiji Ozawa, André Previn, Mstislav Rostropovitch, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Georg Solti and Klaus Tennstedt. He occurs as well in recital as in Chamber music at the sides of Pierre Amoyal, Jean-Philippe Collard, Augustin Dumay, Barbara Hendricks and Lynn Harrell. He also studied the Direction of orchestra and the repertory for the left hand.
Its recent concerts include the Concerto n° 2 of Bartók with Pierre Boulez and the Symphony orchestra of London at the time of the Festival Swell in London and Paris. In 1996, it carries out a round in Japan including/understanding of the recitals with works of Debussy and concerts with the Symphony orchestra of the NHK and the Shinsei Japan Philharmonic.
In 1997, it gives a series in concerts with the Orchestre of the Residence of $the Hague and works of Stravinski. In Paris, one could hear it in an integral of work for piano of Debussy in five concerts.
In 1998, it goes back to Japan with the Orchestre Philharmonia under the direction of Esa-Pekka Salonen.
In 1999, it plays New York with the Philharmonic orchestra of New York and Kurt Masur.
In February 2000, it carried out a round in England and Spain with the Philharmonic orchestra of London under the rod of Kurt Masur.
Michel Béroff teaches with the CNSM of Paris since 1989.
Its important discography comprises in particular the integrals of works for piano and orchestra of Liszt, Prokofiev, Stravinski and Ravel, as well as works of Bach, Brahms, Schumann, Moussorgski, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Ravel, Bartók or Messiaen (of which it remains one of the best interpreters).
