Michel Aglietta

Michel Aglietta , born in 1938 in Chambéry, is former student of the Polytechnic school (X1959 Promotion) and of ENSAE. Currently professor of Economic scenes to the University Paris X, it is also to advise scientist with the CEPII, member of the Academic institute of France and consultant with Groupama-AM. He is also member of the Cercle of the economists. From 1997 to 2003, he was member of the Conseil of economic analysis near the Prime Minister.

In October 1974, Michel Aglietta supports his thesis entitled Régulation of the capitalist mode of production during the long period. Example of the United States (1870-1970) , thesis of science doctorate economic, University Paris I. It is then aggregate with Amiens, after having been Administrateur of INSEE. The jury of its defense of thesis is composed of the professors Raymond Barre, H. Brochier, Carlo Benetti, J. Weiller and Edmond Malinvaud. Defense was more surging, with the departure of Edmond Malinvaud. This thesis will be then discussed within the framework of a seminar organized to INSEE in 1974-1975, then published and slightly altered in 1976.

Michel Aglietta is one of the founders in 1976, with Robert Boyer, of the school of the regulation.

He is a specialist in cash economy international, universally famous for his work on the operation of the financial markets. He in several works drew the attention to the faults of the Financial system.
