Michault Charon, known as Taillevent , better known under the name of Michault Taillevent (born towards 1390/1395 - died between 1448 and 1458), is a Poète of the court of the dukes of Burgundy of the second third of the 15th century, famous for its Passe Time (or Passe Time Michault ), which influenced several poets of second half of XV E century and in which it is precursory François Villon.

Michault Taillevent is an typical example of these actors and poets, true professional of the entertainment, that the dukes of the Maison of Valois maintained and who were charged to offer to the prince the spectacles which punctuated the life of court: Mime S, animations of Banquet S and No weapons.

Probably born between 1390 and 1395 in the area from Surface-on-the-Lily (Pas-de-Calais), Michault Charon, said Taillevent , appears in the accounts of the court of Burgundy of 1426 with 1448 like “ player of farses ” and “manservant” of Philippe the Good, duke of Burgundy of 1419 at 1467. The date of its death can be fixed between 1448 and 1458.

16th century at the end of the 19th century, it was confused with its contemporary and homonym, Pierre Michault (v. 1405 - v. 1465), priest, writer and secretary of Charles Bold the, then count de Charolais.
