Step
Its work articulates around the visual Arts: Photo, Cinema, video installation. Digital technology enables him to restore its vision significant of the world - esthetics, policy, poetic and human. Thus, Michal Rovner built with the wire of its vidéos an image with universal range. Its stripped language proposes an existential universe which is composed of an expansion of small silhouettes. These characters are driven sometimes solitary, sometimes groups some, evolving/moving without goal, equipped with a presence fragile, transitory, confronted with the reality of the world. Its work is a questioning on the memory, the writing, the identity, the existence, time. Its work started to be noticed in the years 1990, but it appeared with the public with the Biennale de Venise 2003.
Quotation
“My work is not directly related to the israélo-Palestinian question. I show conflict situations, tensions, fractures, of vulnerability. (...) I always leave reality. I record it, and then, gradually, I tap the image with reality. The image becomes fuzzier, it loses its definition, it refers consequently to another thing. ”
