Dario Moreno , of its true name Davi Arugete , is a type-setter and Turkish singer born the April 3rd 1921 in Aydin, close to İzmir, in Turkey, and dead on February 1st 1968 in Istanbul.
Biography
Turk by his father, Mexican by his mother, it will keep Turkish nationality all his life. He is a Compositeur and a polyglot Chanteur. He was a great success in the French-speaking countries during the years 1950-60, as humorous singer.He was also the partner of Jacques Brel in the musical production the Man of Mancha .
Dario has a true voice of Ténor. Engaged for a world tour in the orchestra of American Mac Allen, he discovers Paris in 1948 and decides to record there its first disc 78 turns, a bolero, at Odéon. Singer of operetta at the side of Shine Mariano, it joined Polydor and sings the compositions of the young people Charles Aznavour and Gilbert Bécaud. It turns of films, makes its first concert in 1954, becomes very popular with songs like “When she dances” (anthem of the Parisian nights), “Por favor” (begun again by the young person Dalida), “If you go to Rio” in 1958 or “Brigitte Bardot” in 1961.
Dario Moreno is deceased at 47 years of a Brain hemorrhage on December 1st, 1968 with the airport of Istanbul, before the takeoff of its plane, or, according to other sources, of a Myocardial infarction, in a taxi on the way for L `airport.
All its life, Dario Moreno will have kept Turkey in its heart (it recorded several Turkish discs) and the fate will want that it dies on the ground of his origins. But it rests in Israel.
