Michael Kumpfmüller (born in 1961 with Munich) is a German writer .

Biography

After studies of German literature and history with Tübingen, Vienna and Berlin, Michael Kumpfmüller worked in the years 1990 as independent journalist poour various daily newspapers and weekly magazines. He is writer with whole share since 1999.

Its first novel Hampels Fluchten is appeared in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . Kumpfmüller is married with Eva Menasse. He lives with Berlin.

In 2007 Kumpfmüller received the prestigious Prix Alfred Döblin.
