Michael Fu Tieshan
Michael Fu Tieshan (in Chinese simplified: 傅铁山, in Chinese traditional: 傅鐵山) (born the November 3rd 1931 in the District of Qingyuan, in the north of the province of Hebei - died the April 20th 2007 with Beijing) was a Chinese catholic bishop who was the chief of the Chinese patriotic catholic Association, i.e. of the “official” Church of China, whose bishops are not always recognized by the Roman Catholic church.
Biography
Fu was initially priest then became in 1979 bishop of the catholic diocese of Beijing. It was named with the head of the “official” church of China in 1998 and in 2003, became vice-president of the standing committee of the Chinese Popular national assembly.
Anthony Liu Bainian, the vice-president of Association explained why Fu Tieshan had died in a hospital of Beijing of the continuations of a Lung cancer, adding that Fu “was leading respected which guided the believers and the priests in the development of the Chinese church and worked so that it is in conformity with our socialism with Chinese characteristics. ”
