Michael Cretu
Michael Cretu is a Compositeur and Music producer pop and Rumanian Dance naturalized German, born with Bucharest in 1957.
Graduate of the musical Academy of Frankfurt, it leaves a first album in 1978 Moon, Lights and Flowers , obtains its first gold disc as a producer in 1980, and leaves its second album Legionäre in 1983. In 1984 it also takes part in the group Moti Special (an album and some individual).
In 1985, it produces individual the " Maria Magdalena" of the German singer Sandra which obtains an important international success. It thereafter produced seven albums for Sandra (whom it married in 1988). In 1985 also leaves its 3me album which will know a relative success, The Invisible Man (there exists a version interpreted in German and entitled Die Chinesche Mauer ).
In 1988, it leaves an album with a friend and former colleague Moti Special , Tissy Thiers, under the name CaT (Cretu and Thiers). It leaves thereafter the discs under the name of Enigma with which it will obtain its larger success. Its large opening intervenes in 1990 with individual the Sadeness extracts from the first album MCMXC a.D. . The music of Enigma is an original mixture of rates/rhythms groovy (often samplés of groups such as Soul II Drunk person, Genesis or Peter Gabriel), of songs (Gregorian, Eastern) and of whispered words. With Enigma Michael then produced several albums and individual with success.
