Michael Clark

Michael Clark is a Danseur and British Chorégraphe born with Aberdeen (Scotland) the July 2nd 1962.

In its childhood it practices the Scottish Danse then starts studies with the Royal Ballet School of London (1975-1979), following training courses of summer with Merce Cunningham.

It begins its career with the Ballet Rambert in 1979 and, two years later, joined the company of Karole Armitage. In 1984 it founds its own company, Michael Clark and Dancers . It choreography for the Ballet of the Opera of Paris, GRCOP, Scottish Ballet, the London Festival Ballet. He also collaborates in various cinematographic projects with Charles Atlas and dances in Prospero' S Books of Peter Greenaway (1991).

Victim of an accident to the knee, it must stop its career in 1995 but returns to the dance in 1998. Resolutely Postmodern, it is often described as artist “Queer Post-punk”.
