Michael Cimino is an American realizer born the February 3rd 1939 with New York.

Cimino began in the cinema as a scenario writer. One owes him in particular the scenarios of Silent Running of Douglas Trumbull and of the second shutter of the saga of the Inspector Harry Magnum Forces . He passed to the realization with the film Canardeur , with Clint Eastwood. Its second film, Voyage at the end of the hell, met an immense success critical and commercial and been worth with Michael Cimino the Oscar of the best realizer.

Extremely from this success, Cimino obtained United Artists total control for its following film, the Door of the paradise . The film was a financial fiasco and led United Artists to the bankruptcy, but nevertheless is regarded today as a Film worship.
