honourable the Michael David Chong , C.P. (born the November 22nd 1971), is a Canadian politician . He represents the county of Wellington— Halton Hills with the House of Commons of Canada under the banner of the Conservative party of Canada since the federal election of 2004.

Following the victory of the Conservative party at the time of the election of 2006, it is named President of the private Council of the Queen for Canada, Minister for the intergovernmental Businesses and minister of sport.

The November 27th 2006, Chong resigns of the the Council of Ministers to mean its opposition to the motion of the Prime Minister Stephen Harper recognizing the Inhabitants of Quebec like a nation within Canada. According to Chong, it is about the recognition of an unacceptable ethnic nationalism in 2006. He abstained from voting on the motion, and precise which he always supports the other positions of the party and remains appointed Conservative party. Chong was replaced with the intergovernmental Businesses by the deputy Peter Van Loan.
