Michael Bishop is a writer of Science-fiction American born with Lincoln, Nebraska the November 12th 1945.

Biography

Wire of soldier, it spends one year to the Japan at the four years age. His/her parents divorce shortly after their return to the the United States, it is established with his/her mother with Mulvane in the state of the Kansas. It carries out its studies with Tulsa in the Oklahoma then with l' Université of Georgia which it leaves graduate in 1967. Following its English control, it supports a thesis carrying on the poetry of Dylan Thomas ( Dylan Thomas' Obscurity: The Legitimacy off Explanation, University off Georgia, 1968). He teaches English during four years with the Air Force Academy Preparatory Classes with Colorado Springs before returning to teach with l' Université of Georgia . In 1969, it marries Jeri Ellis Whitaker: they will have two children Jamie and Stephanie.

It publishes its first news in 1970 in the magazine Galaxy where it divides the cover with Robert Heinlein and Robert Silverberg. It continues thereafter to publish in many magazines. In 1974, in front of the success gained by its accounts, it decides to leave teaching to be devoted fully to the writing. He moves then with Pine Mountain in the West of the Georgia, area in which will proceed a certain number of its novels.

His/her son, Christopher James Bishop, German professor, died assassinated the April 17th 2007 by Cho Seung-Hui at the time of the Fusillade of the University of Virginia Tech.
