Mezzanine (architecture)
Mezzanine: Surface of Floor or passage in overhang of a part and open on this one. In the majority of the cases, only a railing downwards separate this space from space. Space under the mezzanine can be open on the principal or closed part. The Plafond overhanging at the same time the part downwards and the mezzanine is or flat, or a ceiling cathedral, with the result that the principal part profits a more important height of ceiling.
In a theater or in concert, the mezzanine is the space located above the floor.
