historical General information
The strong castle built in 1337 per Robert de Grancey was dismantled in 1474 per order of Louis XI; restored then dismantled again in 1633 per order of Richelieu, after the treason of Henri de Montmorency. Seigniory of Vergy, Grancey, Guy Pot, count of Saint-pol., then of Montmorency.

Old strong 14th, altered castle 15th, 17th and 19th (hotel-of-city): high square keep, stone staircase, chimney Rebirth, tiled roofs glazed. Beautiful houses vigneronnes 15th/16th. Old leposery or hospital of Meursault 12th (IMH): buildings transformed into farm; old porterie* and vault (IMH). Strong house of Montsachet 14th. Castle of Calves 13th: well, castle and baker's oven with carry-pulley (IMH). Old White mill. Communal oven of Montsachet.
