Messines (in Dutch Mesen ) is a city and a common Dutch-speaking to facilities of Belgium located in the Flemish Région in Province of Western Flanders (area of the Westhoek).
Just like Baerle-Duke and Ixelles, Messines is a parcelled out city: two territories geographically nonadjacent compose the town of Metz-native.
The city knew its apogee with 12th and 13th century thanks to industry clothier, just like Lille, Ypres or Bruges.
