Radio Metropolys was a American Radio station of style founded by Alex Turk.

History

In 1987 there was also a Flemish version radio known as Flanders Golden Hitradio .

In 1988 the C.N.C.L suspends the radio. Métropolys was struck of a suspension to emit 10 days following the going beyond of the power of emission.

In 1989 the C.S.A. seized the transmitters of Métropolys and R.V.N. (Radio Voice of North) on the field (frequency of Lens)

In 1989 Métropolys put the " course on Europe" by diffusing its programs by satellite

In 1990 Métropolys repurchases the radio operator KIS Fm. (January)

In 1991, the CLT, head office of RTL and owner of the network Maxximum, decides to amalgamate this last with the Scandinavian network Métropolys (118 frequencies in France, Belgium and Switzerland), for reasons of financial economy and to respect the anti-concentration law of the media which prevents from now on group RTL from being in a majority within its second radio.

The January 6th 1992, the new network must leave room to the station M40.

The musical diffusion of M40 changes compared to that of Maxximum and Metropolys without answering waitings of the former listeners and without finding the new ones.

In 1995, M40 becomes RTL1 then RTL2.
