Metroid

Metroid (" メトロイド " , pronunciation: " Métoroido")série of video games is a published by Nintendo, appeared for the first time in the play éponyme in 1986. Its development is resulting from the unit R & D 1 which Gunpei Yokoi directed. For its return on GameCube, the series was entrusted to the American studio Retro Studios, repurchased by Nintendo.

General principle

Metroid is a series of Jeux of platform seen profile which has parallel a series now known as Prime , which is presented as for it as a Jeu of adventure to the first nobody says “FPA” ( First Persson Adventure ). The principal idea of the play consists in making evolve/move the equipment of Samus Aran in gigantic infested worlds labyrinthesques of all kinds of creatures, of which the famous métroïdes, extraterrestrial creatures which absorb the energy of any living being. At the beginning of each one of its adventures, Samus is not generally equipped that basic Costume of power said “Power Suit” as well as Ray of Power “Power Beam”. In the series Precedes, it starts with an armament a little more advanced made up of the Varia costume, the missile launcher, the charge radius, the ball morphing and the boots of space jump. The scenario provides that the chasseuse one of premium is quickly stripped known as material. The Costume of power has a variable molecular structure, which makes it possible Samus to obtain additional weapons and accessories progressively, such as the missile launcher or the Ray of Ice, but also of the more powerful armours, as the Costume of Gravity which makes it possible to move under water and in unconstrained space. Once the recovered objects, the player can then turn over in the zones already visited in order to reach the inaccessible rooms before. This principle, revolutionist at the time, were taken again later by Konami in its series Castlevania, starting from the episode Symphony off the Night.

The scenario

The history proceeds in a universe at the edge of the crisis. In order to bring closer the various intelligent species and to control interplanetary terrorism, the most powerful planets create the Galactic Federation, of which the number of planets members does not cease growing bigger. The “Chozos”, the known most intelligent race of the galaxy, teach with various civilizations some rudiments of their state-of-the-art technology, in order to maintain the stability of the Universe.

Other side, the “Pirates of Space”, populates wandering ultraviolent very technologically advanced, lives the their plunderings carried out by their armies over-equipped on another planets, and gradually recovers the secrecies chozos disseminated in the galaxy. Chozos fight the pirates ardently, then disappear completely from the galaxy, leaving behind them their colonies in ruins. What their did it arrive? Why the representatives of these people scattered with the four corners of the Universe have all disappeared at the same time? Research of the Galactic Federation is vain, and the latter remain alone vis-a-vis the pirates. Some of found prophecies chozos claim all the same that their people await the arrival of the “Elected official” of the light, equipped with their weapons and armor, which will complete their work.

Time passed and the Elected official did not come. All the edge external of the galaxy is now under the yoke of the Pirates of Space who started again themselves on the last studies of the chozos about the biological weapons. On small land colony K-2L is born Samus Aran. Whereas the latter is 3 years old, the colony is attacked by a scientific squadron of the Pirates of Space. The galactic police force on the spot tries to resist, but is swept by the new “recruit” of the pirates here to the test: Ridley. The family of Samus is massacred like all the inhabitant of K-2L, is excluded Samus Aran itself, hidden by her mother. The latter is collected after the drama by two Chozos survivors, made too late. The latter bring back it on the last planet chozo, Zebes, where they form it like a Chozo warrior. Ten years later, Samus completes its drive and is seen entrusting a Costume of Power to measure, the only one of all the Galactic History. (It appears in the second volume of E-manga that Mother Brain was an artificial intelligence created by the chozos and who was used to them as host computer, of planetary interface, on the Zebes planet. Thereafter and without explanation being still had Mother Brain will become the chief of the pirates of space.)

Samus, with an aim of eliminating the threat pirates in order to avenge his/her parents, becomes a Space Hunter , one of the Mercenaire S of the galactic Federation. However, one of its missions will bring back it on Zebes, now in ruin, in order to carry out its " there; Mission zéro" , because the Pirates of Space, in their thirst for being able, come to awake an old curse: Métroïdes…

One can note that the scenaristic screen of the series as certain elements of the history seem strongly inspired or similar to the universe of films of Science-fiction Alien. It is besides for that a boss of the play is called Ridley (reference to Ridley Scott).
