Metoprolol

The metoprolol is a chemical Molécule with properties beta-blocking on the human cardiovascular system. Marketed under several names of which Lopresor and Betaloc, it is available in the form of succinate or tartrate salt.

This drug is used inter alia in arterial Hypertension, in Cardiac failure, prevention of the Angina pectoris.

The time of Demi-vie is from 3 to 7 a.m., depend on the individual, and its biodisponibility is from approximately 40 to 50%. It is eliminated in a hepatic way, by the Cytochrome S P450 2D6 (very strong affinity) and 2C19 (weak affinity)
