WELL OF THE RIOUX

In 1946, the exploitation of the Anthracite is centralized around the basin of Villaret de Susville. A network of galleries is then arranged in basement, served in north and the south by the well of Villaret and that of Rioux with Prunières. The head-frame of mine as well as the engine room preserved on the well of Rioux testify to this activity which marked the very whole identity of Matheysine deeply.
