Methanopyrus is a kind of archeobactery pertaining to the phylum of the Euryarchaeota, with the order of Methanopyrales. Methanopyrus kandleri is in the shape of stick. It is about a micro-organism hyperthermophile (optimum of growth to 98°C), chimiolitho-autotrophic. It is isolated from underwater hydrothermal chimney, with 2000 meters of depth.
