Metalcore

The metal hardcore is a style of music born with the the United States, very influenced by the Punk hardcore. It generally keeps the fronts and the rates/rhythms of the Punk but proposes a “brutality” closer to that of the metal. The metal hardcore is popularized today by groups such as Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Unearth, Purified In Blood, All Shall Parish, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, Revolution Before, Destroy The Runner, Caliban, Atreyu, Bleeding Through, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Haste the Day, Still Remains, It Dies Today, Demon Hunter, Bullet For My Valentine, Stillrise etc
- Birth and origin

The preliminary works of this evolution were as of the middle of the years 1980; achieved by groups like DRI, Corrosion Off Conformity and SOD. At the time, one qualified this mixture as being of Crossover. In front of all Crew New York Hardcore plus Old School like Cro-Mags, Agnostic Face and Madball (the singers of these the last two groups are brothers), one used until the medium of years 1990 of the elements approaching much with Metal (it is still the case today). While Biohazard were not satisfied that elements with Metal and in its music even elements of hip-hop (in its form more " integrated; Crossover") , the other " Crew" being to symbolize by groups like Pro-Bread and others in the vein of Merauder.

Pioneers of this kind

At the end of the Eighties, the Thrash metal explodes everywhere in the world: Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax influences a whole generation. Inevitably, from the musicians bathed in HardCore Old-School will integrate certain plans/fronts, certain structures with the original punk music. One speaks then about HxC “New-School” or HxC-Metal: the sound is heavier, the slower rate/rhythm, vocal the least acute and more howled much, the double pedal makes its appearance. Nuclear Assault was the first group to assert a hybrid style metal/hardcore punk, in same time, of the groups like the scene of Cleveland to the texts readily anticlericals, apocalyptic and dark (from where their label “Holy Terror”) with Ringworm, In Cold Blood, Integrity but also Starkweather… But also Maximum Penalty, Leeway, Biohazard, Madball, Judge, and Raw Deal made evolve/move the hardcore while borrowing from metal, a sound more " massif" , the use of the double pedal, and vocal the more aggressifs. It to what one allots sometimes the label of " hardcore tough guy" , the lyrics preserving the sets of themes of the punk hardcore, such as the respect, the integrity, the honor, and the power of mental, but while bringing a certain additional violence there, the most popular example at present in this style remain the group Hatebreed.
