Mesta
The Mesta (Места) into Bulgarian or the Nestos (Νέστος) in Greek is a river of Bulgaria and Greece. It takes its source with: 2240 m of altitude, in the mounts Rila, the south of Bulgaria, and are thrown in water of the Aegean Sea, more precisely in the Mer of Thrace close to the island of Thasos. Its length is approximately 230 km, of which 126km in Bulgaria and the remainder in Greece. The river borrows throats in its crossing of the solid masses of Rila and the Pirin.
The river forms a natural border between the peripheries of Greece of central Macedonia and Thrace as between the name Xanthi and of Kavala
