Mesohippus
The Mesohippus (of the Greek , horse of the medium) form one of équidé primitive having lived in North America Duchesnien with the Orellien i.e from 42 to 33,3 years million. Its equine characteristics are marked than at the Hyracotherium and the Orohippus since its legs are longer, that it is held mainly on its finger of the major one, that its muzzle is longer, that its eyes rounder and are related to the sides and that it has an additional molar. The cerebral hemisphere, or the cranial cavity, was in particular larger than ccelui of its predecessors; its brain was comparable with that of the horse of today.
Its teeth were also larger and a small space was formed and which will become the bar of équidés modern.
The Mesohippus was one of the most widespread mammals in North America during this period.
