Mesnil-in-Thelle
Mesnil-in-Thelle is a common French, located in the department of the Oise and the area Picardy.
Geography
Located at the southern limit of the department of Oise, the commune is limited by Chambly to South-west, Fresnoy-in-Thelle in the North-West, Morangles in the North-East, Bernes-on-Oise and Persan (Valley of Oise) in the South. Mesnil-in-Thelle is also located at 35 km of Beauvais and 5 km of Neuilly-in-Thelle (Chief town of canton).
History
" Mesnil" comes from former French Maisnil then Ménil, who originates in the Latin word " manse" who means house of peasant. The oldest name of Mesnil dates from the 10th century: Mansionile Sancti Dyonisii. In 1340, Mesnil in Thelle was called Mesnil Beaumont, then became Mesnil Saint Denis. Mesnil was included/understood a long time in the County of Beaumont-on-Oise. It is into 1911 that was given to common its current name: Mesnil-in-Thelle.

The church Saint Michel of Mesnil-in-Thelle built at the 15th century is a remarkable building. Its complete restoration has been just completed. The frame was reduced and simplified by the will of the mayor. The bell-tower of the church is surmounted by an artistic part of more than 500 years: a cock, symbol of Gaulle.
