Risks of the trade of pilot

The trade of racing driver is not a trade like the others. At the time of an automobile race, the danger permanent, and is still increased by the high speeds reached by the vehicles. Spectacular accidents, like that of the young hope Polish Robert Kubica at the time of GP of Canada de Formule 1, the June 10th 2007, make shout with the miracle, because the pilot leaves himself there almost unscathed. In one century of automobile competitions the number of the pilots having lost the life during a race automolile or during tests is impressive. This threat weighs on each pilot when it penetrates in his cockpit and of very great champions, like Alberto Ascari, Jim Clark, Jochen Rindt (become world champion on a purely posthumous basis), Ayrton Senna in Formule 1 or Dale Earnhardt in NASCAR, or of the hopes, like Peter Collins, Wolfgang von Trips, François Cevert or Ronnie Peterson was victims of their passion for speed. Nowadays the Draconian safety regulations enacted by the International federation of the car as well for the design of the cars as that of the cicuits, or what it calls “passive safety” reduced the number of accidents fatal considerably. But the pilot is not safe from a serious wound, which can prematurely put a term at its career. Pilots like, for example, the British great champion Stirling Moss (four times vice-champion of the world), the Swiss Clay Regazzoni or the young French hope Philippe Streiff saw their broken career and their life upset by serious wounds undergone at the time of accidents in race.
