Mervyn Davies

Thomas Mervyn Davies , more known under the name of Mervyn Davies , was born the December 9th 1946 with Swansea (Wales). It is a former player of Rugby to XV, which played with the team of Wales of 1969 with 1976, evolving/moving at the station of third line (1,94  m for 93  kg).

It disputed its first test match the 1969, against the team of Scotland, and its last test match was against the team of France, the March 6th 1976.

He played all his selections (38) consecutively.

He was nine times captain of the team of Wales.

Davies disputed 26 matches (including eight test matches) with the British Lions, in 1971 against the All-Blacks and in 1974 against the Springboks.

Mervyn Davies evolved/moved with the London Welsh R.F.C until 1972 then with Swansea RFC. It disputes 88 matches for Swansea and it registers 15 tests.

He is the captain of the team of Wales during his 9 last appearances. In the same way he is the captain of Swansea at the time of his last season in 1975-1976.

He played with the Barbarians, he was Welsh player of the year 1975 and 1976.
