Unfinished novel written two years before Five weeks in balloon , whose facsimile was published in 2003, in except series of review GEO entitled Jules Verne, the Odyssey of the Earth .

There remains of work only the first twelve pages corresponding to the first chapter of the novel. This last was written starting from the notes that made Jules Verne at the time of a voyage in Scandinavia achieved in 1859 in company of two of his/her best friends, the Nantes musician Aristide Hignard (1822-1898) and the lawyer “Emile L…” whose identity remains mysterious.
