Meropidae

Of the méropidés (or Meropidae ) is the family of the guêpiers , birds of intermediate size (16 to 35 cm), brilliantly coloured. They have a long nozzle slightly bent, average wings with long, short legs, and a tail with the lengthened median rectrices.

They live in the Old world, in opened mediums, forest edges and clearings, in hot climate.
