Memorial of the unloading in Provence

The Mémorial of the Mont Faron is located on the heights north of Toulon, in the Var (France). It is lodged inside the Beaumont tower, set up in 1945.

It commemorates the unloading combined in Provence the August 15th 1944, the Opération Anvil Dragoon.

The memorial has many rooms, presenting the involved forces first of all (uniform, material, military chiefs). The showrooms detail then the course of operation, on the various battle fields, with many charts and photographs of time.

Many models (vehicles, warships) and mannequins in behavior illustrate the topics approached.

Outside, of the machines (anti-aircraft gun, German anti-tank gun, American tank) the fort surrounds.
