Memorial of Verdun
The Mémorial of Verdun to Fleury-in front of-Douaumont in Lorraine evokes the sufferings of the combatants but also civil populations during the First World War. The Memorial was built with the site of the old station of Fleury-In front of-Douaumont. It was built in the years 1960, under the initiative of the CNSB (National committee of the Memory of Verdun) which was then chaired by the writer Maurice Genevoix.
The national association of the memory makes discover on the ground the vestiges of the field of the battles of Verdun.
