Memorial of France with Saint-Denys

The Mémorial of France with Saint-Denys is an association (within the meaning of the law of 1901) founded on May 1st 1914 by the prince capétien François Xavier of Parma (1889-1977), and currently chaired by the duke of Bauffremont, born in 1922 (also president of the Institut of the house of Bourbon) .

Its mission first is to perpetuate the ordinance of the January 21st 1815 of the king Louis XVIII, instituting a mass celebrated in the Basilique Saint-Denis each January 21st and each October 16th in memory of the king Louis XVI of France († 1793) and of the queen Marie-Antoinette († 1793), which was made without stopping except for the periods of war.

The mass of the bicentenary, the January 21st 1993, was chaired by the prince Louis de Bourbon (1974-), duke of Anjou, elder of the Capétiens, at the sides of his/her grandmother the princess Emmanuelle, duchess of Anjou and Segovia, and its uncle the prince Gonzalve, duke of Aquitaine.

June 8th, 2004, the Memorial organized the official burial of the funeral urn containing the heart of Louis XVII, authenticated by analyzes DNA, in the vault of the Bourbons of the basilica-cathedral of Saint-Denis.
