Membrane depolarization
A membrane depolarization is a reduction in the Potential difference rêgnant between the interior of a cell and the external medium, on both sides in the plasmic membrane, due generally to an entry of positive ions (Na+, Ca++, etc) inside the cell, and intervening in the muscular Contraction and transmission systems of the Nerve impulse.
