Melville " Mev" Rogers was a artistic skater Canadian. He was champion of Canada and North America. He was the first Canadian artistic skater to have taken part in the Olympic Games in 1924. He also patinated couples some with various partners, whose Gladys Rogers with which he gained the Canadian championship couples some in 1925 and Cecil Smith with which he took part in the Olympic Games of 1924. Meville and Cecil are the first Canadian couple to have taken part in the Olympic Games.

He was member of the Club of Minto ice-skating during 50 years. After its career amateur, it occupied various functions in the world of the figure skating. He was president of the Canadian Association of figure skating (ACPA) during two mandates, like judges international. He was a large promoter of the sport amateur, when he was president of the Canadian Advisory counsel of the sports during 15 years.

Melville Rogers allowed with the Temple of was re-elected Canada Ice-skating in 1990 as a builder.
