Melchisédech is an enigmatic biblical character who very briefly appears in the history of Abraham such as brings it back the Livre of the Genesis, chapter 14 verses 18 to 20. The name is symbolic system (king of justice) like its title of king de Salem (Peace).

The name of Melchisédech appears again in the Psaume 110: the Lord swore it in an irrevocable oath: You are Priest forever according to the order of the king Melchisédech .
The epistle with the Hebrews (7, 1-3) again evokes this figure symbolic system of the Christ, “priest according to the order of Melchisédech”.
The Catholic church refers to Melchisédech in the eucharistic prayer: And as it rained you to accommodate the present of Abel the Juste, the sacrifice of our father Abraham, and that whom Melchisédech your large priest offered to you, in sign of the perfect sacrifice, looks at this Offrande with love, and in your benevolence, it accepts.
In enology, a Melchisédech is a Bouteille in Verre of 30 liters (either 40 bottles of 75 Cl).
The author freemason Albert Mackey writes that the masons révèrent it like a god.
