Mekong More

Mekong Plus was created in 1994 (under the name of Vietnam Plus in France). It is a association which supports projects with the Kampuchea and in the south of the Vietnam, only in rural regions and the poor. The main aim is the Community development. Three principles guide its action:

  • priority with poorest (annual income around 80 Euro S);
  • participation of all;
  • low costs and durability.

In Vietnam, Mekong Plus works narrowly with a ONG Vietnamese recently created, Thiên Chí (what means “Good will”). In Kampuchea, Mekong more supports small ONG local like ROADS. The actions proceed in relatively isolated and poor areas: popularization of agricultural techniques, training of village technicians, Microcrédit, education and health, theater-action, job creation, etc

Mekong Plus believes that it is very important to share information and testimonys of the ground, so that the Westerners can better include/understand the stakes, and to see which are the most effective actions to reduce poverty.
