Meissen
Meissen or Misnie in French (orthography German E: Meißen ) is a town of Saxony, in Germany. It counts currently a little less 30 000 inhabitants. It is twinned with Vitry-sur-Seine, city of the the Valley-of-Marne, in France.
History
This city was based by Henri I {{er}} of Saxony in 922 on a rock overhanging the Elba. During several centuries, Meissen was a flourishing city of which it always remains of many vestiges in the old districts: medieval lanes, castle Albrechtsburg, Dom (cathedral), etc
