Meiningen is a town of Germany localized in the southern part of the Thuringe in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen.

History

It is named for the first time in 982 and is charted in 1344.

Of 1680 with 1918, it belongs to the Saxony-Meiningen.

Geography

It is located on the river Werra and counts approximately: 26000 inhabitants.
