Meinau
Meinau is a district located at the south-west of Strasbourg. The Stage of Meinau, accommodating the Racing Club of Strasbourg is located in this district.
The avenue of Colmar, main axis of Meinau, separates this district from the Plaine of the Butchers, vast industrial sector of the territory of Strasbourg, located between Meinau and the Canal of the Rhone at the Rhine.
In the Années 1920 the Car manufacturer Mathis had there its factories and to 15.000 people worked there.
Meinau is made up of residential zones (mono villas or bi/tri families) and of collective habitat (HLM). These 2 types of habitats are separated by the road from Meinau.
