Mehran Karimi Nasseri (in Persan: مهرانکریمیناصری, prononc. meɦˈrɔːn kʲæriːˈmiː nɔːseˈriː ) born in 1942 with Masjed Soleiman, in Iran), called Sir Alfred Mehran Iranian Réfugié is a which lived in Terminal 1 of the Aéroport Roissy-Charles de Gaulle of the August 8th 1988 until in August 2006, date on which he was hospitalized for an unknown cause.

Its youth

Mehran Karimi Nasseri was born in Iran, in Masjed Soleiman. His/her father was doctor, and although Nasseri affirms that his/her mother was an English nurse, its family disputes it. It was able at the the United Kingdom in September 1973 in order to study during 3 years at the university of Bradford.

Whereas it was in the United Kingdom, it took part in March 1974 in demonstrations against Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, the Iranian Chah then with the capacity. It turned over to Iran the August 7th 1975, after the funds provided for the grants were suddenly cut. According to its own account, on arrival with the airport of Teheran, it was taken along by the Iranian secret police, and was imprisoned and tortured for four months before being expelled of the country. Nobody was able to check this version, it is only checked that Nasseri was among the 20 students who were questioned in 1970 afterwards demonstrations against a new regulation of the university of Teheran.

Its wandering in Europe

Returning to Europe, he asks asylum Berlin, in West Germany, then with the Netherlands in 1977 but its requests was rejected. It made in the same way in France, 1978 (it failed after a demand for call), and in Yugoslavia. In 1979, it formulated the same request in Italy, without success. It tests again in France, in 1980, in vain. Asking to emigrate in the United Kingdom, one refused to him, and it was not authorized to enter the country by the Aéroport of London Heathrow. It tried once again to enter to West Germany, but it was stopped at the Belgian border before the Belgium does not accept it.

The October 7th 1980, its request of asylum was conceded to him by the Commission of the the United Nations for the refugees. He lived in Belgium until in 1986, when he decided to set out again for the United Kingdom, a priori seeking that which he believes being his mother. With correct documents, it embarks on the ferry the November 16th 1984 for Folkestone. Arrived to Great Britain, it makes the error to turn over its chart of refugee of the Office of the High Commission of the United Nations for the refugees (UNHCR) to Brussels, thus thinking more of being able to be made return towards Belgium. It is a bad calculation because it is made expel of England and, as it from now on is considered in irregular situation for the Belgians, those close their border to him. It seems that marks the beginning of the decline of intellectual faculties of that which starts to be made call to sir Alfred . He finds himself finally with Boulogne-sur-Mer in 1985, where France condemns it to three months of Prison for irregular stay on the national territory.

Its stay in Roissy

After his coming out of prison, one finds it with terminal 1 of Roissy. Its spirit is not any more very clear according to doctors of the airport. He claimed to be attacked, and his stolen bag whereas he awaited the RER in order to go to the airport, to leave for Heathrow. He succeeds in embarking, but arriving at the London airport without papers necessary, the personnel of the airport returned it from where he came. He then spends five months to the Parisian prison of Fleury-Mérogis then, his purged sorrow, turns over again to the airport of Roissy.

In 1992, French lawyers obtain that the France grants a residence permit to him. But for that, the French authorities require that it present its chart of refugee granted in Belgium. That creates a situation kafka ïenne since Brussels requires that it go in person to withdraw it whereas it does not have papers to leave the territory!

Its situation leads only in 1999. In June, its Main lawyer Le Bourget, accompanied by Doctor Bargain, brings it to the court of Bobigny whose depends the airport zone on Roissy so that it withdraws finally his new papers. But with the general suprise, Merhan Karimi Nasseri refuses: I refuse to sign these papers, they are not with my name. I am not any more that which I was. I invite myself from now on to sir Alfred Merhan and I am not Iranian. My father was Swedish and my mother, Danish. It is then impossible to reason it.

It turns over then in the starting hall of terminal 1 of the airport to its request. There will thus remain in the middle of numerous paperboards close to the shop Relay where paradoxically its book can be bought. As opposed to what much believe, it blocked forever in zone of transit and was thus free of its movements. It left the airport to be hospitalized at the end of July 2006 for unknown reason.

At its exit of the hospital at the end of January 2007, Sir Alfred Mehran is dealt with by the local antenna of the French Croix-Rouge of the airport. It is lodged a few weeks in a hotel close to the airport, then transferred on Monday, March 6 in a hearth from reception of Emmaüs France in the 20 {{E}} district of Paris.
