Mehmet Rıza Beğ

Mehmet Rıza Beğ was the intendant of the governor of Erevan which was chosen by the Chah of Perse Hussein 1er in 1794 to represent it near the King de France Louis XIV, in particular during the signature of the Commercial treaty and friendship between France and Perse. Its voyage towards the France, in company of the Arménie N Hagopdjan de Deritchan, indicated to accompany it, was a true epopee. He will propose a military action against Oman.

He is described by the priest Claude Bougrain like “a character imbu of itself, coléreux and little diplomat”. He had moreover a certain reputation of extravagance.
