Mehdi Karroubi
Hojjat ol-Eslam Mehdi Karroubi مهدیکروبی , born in 1939 with Aligoudarz, Lorestan, is a politician and a member of the clergy Iran IEN. He is the founder and chair outgoing Société of the militant clerks. He was the spokesperson of the Iranian Parlement between 1989 and 1992 and between 2000 and 2004. He was candidate at the time of the presidential election of 2005.
Karroubi was also candidate with the legislative elections of 2004 with Teheran. It arrived thirty-and-unième of the first turn where only thirty candidates were selected. It was thus withdrawn for the second turn.
Karroubi criticizes the Conseil of the Guards but supports the supreme guide and regards itself as a disciple of Rouhollah Khomeini. It was to advise with the supreme guide and member of the Conseil of understanding, named by Ali Khamenei until it resigns of all these political stations on June 19th, 2005, after the first turn of the presidential elections.
Karroubi is regarded as a pragmatic reformer.

Presidential campaign
Karroubi belonged to the reforming candidates to the presidential election of 2005. It finished third of the first turn, preceded by Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
After the advertisement of the results of the éelction, Karroubi claimed that a network of Mosquée S, Pasdaran and Basij had illegally mobilized the support for Ahmadinejad. It then explicitly indicated Mojtaba Khamenei, one of wire of the supreme guide Ali Khamenei, like belonging to the conspirators. After that, the Ayatollah Khamenei wrote in Karroubi to make him share which its allegations are below its dignity and that they will cause a crisis in Iran; what it cannot accept. As an answer, in an open letter addressed on June 19th to Khamenei, Karroubi resigns of all its political offices, of which those to which Ali Khamenei had named it. The next day, on June 20th, 2005, of the reforming newspapers such as Eghbal , Hayat-e No , Aftab-e Yazd , and Etemad are prohibited of publication by the public prosecutor of Teheran, Saeed Mortazavi to have to publish the letter of Karroubi. The prosecutor prohibits finally Eghbal . June 20th, it is also declared that Karroubi was assigned in residence because of its letter.
Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, which finished 1e at the conclusion of the first turn of the election, noted also unjust interventions aiming at guiding the votes, and supported Karroubi in its complaint.
