Megalaima oorti

The bearded Malayan ( Megalaima oorti ) is a bird pertaining to the Asian falmille Capitonidae

Description

It is long from 20 to 23,5 cm. The dominant color of its plumage is the safe green for the head which is a mixture of blue, yellow and red. The turn of the eye and the nozzle are black. The legs are greenish grey and the Chinese call this bird the bird with the five colors (五色鳥) per reference to the five colors of its plumage.

Distribution

It is scattered in the south-east of the Asia: Sumatra, Malayan Peninsula, is Kampuchea, south of the Laos, south and center of the Vietnam, south of the China (Guangxi) and the islands of Hainan and Taiwan. There exists under endemic species in these islands which are regarded sometimes as species with whole share: the bearded blacksmith ( Mr. faber ) and the bearded of Formosa ( Mr. nuchalis ).

Lifestyle

He lives the tropical forests and subtropical. He lives in the upper part and average of the Canopée. It is known that he niche in a hole of tree but one does not know large thing moreover on him.
