Megève , qualified “21e district of Paris” by Jean Cocteau, is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Savoie and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

Megève is located on a collar, which separates the basins slopes from the Arly (Val of Arly) in the south-west of that of the Arbon in the North-East. It is dominated by the heights of Christomet, of the Mount of Alpine laburnum - one of the most beautiful view-points on the Mont Blanc - and of Rochebrune.

Located in the canton of Sallanches in Haute-Savoie, its important tourist rise goes back to the Années 1910 when the family Rothschild decided to do of them one of her vacation resorts. It was a question for them of building a French competitor at the prestigious Swiss station of Saint-Moritz.

Megève was voted by plebiscite for its model of success architectural: a long time ski station of the great aristocracy, the city knew to reconcile elegantly built modern and safeguarding of the old inheritance.
